1954 TR-2

Owners:  Jim & Sharon Wortsman
Commission No. TS2032L
Purchased June 1997

It’s gleaming green, and Jim tells all:

“When I was in high school, I had a ’56 TR-2.  I later went through a ’67 Spitfire and two MG Midgets.  Years later, I said that if I ever had the time and money to devote to it, I’d love to have another TR.  About two and a half years ago, my younger son heard me, got a national Auto Trader, and began circling all the TR-2s and TR-3s for sale.  To make a long story short, we ended up with this 1954 TR-2 long door.

“I rebuilt the front suspension and the hydraulic system, but have done little else to the car, until now.  Ron Harrison will be doing a valve job and putting in a proper manifold, and I am planning to tear down the body, have some body work done and have it repainted to an original British Racing Green.  I will keep you posted on the progress of the work.

“Sharon and I really enjoy getting out and just driving around in the car.  I think we all enjoy the admiring looks, head turns and jealous stares we get as we head down the road in our carefully held-together machines.  We are looking forward to getting the TR-2 into a more reliable state than it currently is, so we can continue our drives and join in on more TTR activities.”
