SA&AP Special Fruit and Vegetable Cars Two

(green) and No. 8499 (black)  Here are two unique Micro-Trains special run cars. The logo is adapted from artwork found on an old pass from the San Antonio & Aransas Pass Railroad (SA&AP). The cars, based on the Micro-Trains 40' double sheathed, one and one-half door wood box car, are available in green and black, and can be purchased in sets only while supplies last. The SA&AP was chartered in August 1884 to build a rail line from San Antonio to Aransas Bay on the Texas Gulf Coast. In 1916, the railroad owned 86 locomotives and 2,810 freight and passenger cars. By 1927, the railroad was controlled by Southern Pacific and operated 859 miles of mainline trackage in Texas. Much of the SA&AP's trackage has since been abandoned.
