RIDE AMTRAK TO BIG BEND
WITH HOUSTON RAILROAD MUSEUM!

The Gulf Coast Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society invites you to join us for a trip to Big Bend on Amtrak’s Sunset Limited. The Chapter will purchase group-rate tickets and then each traveler will set his or her own agenda at the destination, including hotel and car rental (if desired) in the Big Bend area.

The Sunset Limited has comfortable coach seating, a lounge car and a full diner. Sleeping accommodations are available on the train although the price and availability cannot be guaranteed until the group coach tickets are purchased.

Our mission:
To preserve, enjoy and share with the public the memory, history and experience of railroading, particularly Texas railroading, as it has been and as it is now.

Gulf Coast Chapter, National Railway Historical Society, Inc. strives to fulfill its mission at the Houston Railroad Museum, 7390 Mesa Dr. in Houston, Texas.  The museum, open every weekend from April to November, features an interesting collection of railroad locomotives, cars and other artifacts, as well as a model railroad and research library.  For more information, use the links at left.

The Houston Railroad Museum is open every Saturday through the first weekend in November from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Click here for location and other information. Admission is $5 for adults, $2.50 for children 12 and under. We now accept MasterCard and Visa for your convenience.
 
The Houston Railroad Museum is operated by Gulf Coast Chapter, National Railway Historical Society, Inc.  Gulf Coast Chapter, National Railway Historical Society, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization incorporated under the laws of the State of Texas.  Most donations to the museum are tax deductible.
