the Houston Railroad Museum, where whistle-blowing takes on
a
special
meaning!
The
museum is open Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. through the first weekend in November.
The museum's annual open
house and railroad photography contest exhibit will be held Saturday,
Nov. 6, 2010, after which the museum will close for the winter.
The museum is located at 7390
Mesa Road on Houston's
northeast side. Admission is $5 for adults and $2.50 for
children.

To get to the museum from downtown Houston, go east on
I-10 to Loop
610 East. Go north on Loop 610 East to the second exit, McCarty Dr.
Turn
right on McCarty, go about a mile and turn left at the second light, which
is Mesa Road. Go one mile and the museum is on the right. If you
